I saw a doggy on a leash so, I'm not sure what to tell you? My rating of 3/5 is mostly due to the litter of the fairy section, otherwise, it looks like a great spot for a day hike.ĬAUTION: The sign at the entrance says dogs are not allowed but the sign at the trailhead says dogs must be leashed. It looks like the kids had fun along this trail but I would rather adults take the opportunity to teach the children about caring for our natural resources responsibly. Being from Maine, fairy houses are popular along hiking trails there as well but the mindset is much more ecologically friendly, with signs inviting people to use only what is readily available in the forest. The only puzzling part was a 'fairy village' stretch sponsored by a local girl scout troop, strewn with plastic pieces, aluminum, and painted wooden houses. When the Spring brings everything back to life I imagine it is even more popular. My guess is that it is well-traveled since I saw 8-10 other walkers mid-day in February.
( I have a bad knee and managed fine.) Though the time of year and time of day must have taken all the birds elsewhere, I enjoyed the beauty of the textures and dormant forest.
